Stuck In The 60's Band is a group of Carlsbad Senior High School classmates who played together back in the 60's. We reunited again in July of 1997 just before our 30 year class reunion. We jammed together Thursday and Friday before the reunion on Saturday July 4th 1997. We played a couple of songs for the reunion banquet on Saturday night and thats all it took to re-kindle our interest in playing Rock-n-Roll. We communicated with each other via phone and email, then in 2003 we played Saturday night for the class of 1968 reunion. We all had a great time re-living the past by playing together again and made a commitment to get together the next summer in Carlsbad to jam once again. During the spring of 2004 while looking for a location to play here in Carlsbad we received a call from another 1967 classmate Kay Doss. Kay said "you guys are looking for a place to play and we are looking for a band for the Golf tournament at Riverside Country Club on Memorial Day." We've played each Memorial Day Weekend 04, 05 & 06. On Friday night we play for the "Century 21 Legends Golf Tournament Banquet" and then on Saturday night we play again and the Riverside Country Club is open to the Public with a special invitation to all Carlsbad Senior High Graduates. Those of you have have been there know what a "hoot" Saturday night is.

A little info to go with the next 2 pics. As was mentioned in a letter sent to Valarie (Alstrom) Cranston who was working as a reporter for the Carlsbad Current Argus in 2004, Lanny Barnett had begged his parents to buy him a guitar. The photo directly below is a pic of Lanny in the late spring of 1962 with that first guitar.
Lanny Barnett, 1962, age (13) with Black Silvertone Arch Top Guitar,
Pic below, Lanny Barnett, aka LanMan 2004, age (old) with his "ump-teenth" but favorite of all times 1982 Ibanez Musician Guitar and Fender 1960's amps. This equipment and a 32-Track computer recorder is used to record track by track the music that's still in his head from the 60's Click HERE to listen, Just can't seem to get this sound out of our heads!
Some of these sounds are a combination of the music we were hearing back in the early 60' such as this song, its kind of a mix of what we called the "Latin" beat and the "British" sound.
