Classmates, what a wonderful time we had together on Friday and Saturday.   You guys and gals are the greatest.  Thank you so much for all your wonderful words about the Reunion.   All of you coming from far and wide to be with each other is what made it so special.   The number in attendance was somewhere around 275.   The food was great the re-uniting was exciting ....  and yes HUGGINS can still play !

Send me photos and comments for this page so everyone can see.

Israel,
I can't figure out how to send this on the forum site but I wanted to write and thank you for a job well done! This was my first reunion and I really enjoyed it. I appreciate those that took the time to encourage me and nagged me to attend.  You guys did a great job and kept costs so reasonable for all. I know there were countless hours put in and please know we all appreciate your efforts. I thought the Vietnam veteran recognition was so meaningful. Whether you agreed or disagreed with it, those that went deserved to be respected and at least welcomed home. Watching the crowd that night, I think it meant a great deal to them. I think it's important to remember the sad and hard times so that we can truly appreciate the good times. Our class grew up in a turbulent time and you know, I think we all came out well.  We have learned from it and  I think as a whole, we have given back and made things better for many people. And the band? What can I say? They were so good. It was like going back in time listening and dancing to their music. They completed the journey back to '67.
So in closing, thank you, thank you for giving us back a moment in time, when we were young and full of dreams and hope. A time when we just knew we were all invincible.

Lanny, I just wanted to thank you for all the work, I somehow missed talking to you at the reunion. I was balancing the family getting together and the reunion. When I am in town sometime, we should have lunch. I thought everything turned out very special. It was well organized and it went smooth. It was nice to see everyone.

Thanks again,

Regards,

Thursday Morning setting up tables and chairs

Lanny,

I can't thank you, Israel, Rita, and all the others that were on the committee, enough for putting together such an unforgettable reunion!  I guess you've heard from many of us that it was probably the best reunion ever!!!  I know a lot of time and effort was expended by all of the committee.

"Thank you" doesn't seem like enough to say......but I sincerely appreciate all the work that was put into the reunion so that so many of us could be together again.   God bless all of you!

p.s.  The "Stuck in the 60's Band" was soooooo much fun!

Thanks again,

Lanny, Israel, and Carolyn:
Here is a portion of an email I received back from Allen Kilgore about seeing him when he and Pebo stopped by on Friday night.  You might want to share it with the other committee members or even  on the site.
Thanks again for everything.
Jeanene

How lucky I feel that somewhere along the way, I became friends with you all.  Whenever I think of special people who have impacted my life with their wit, wisdom, and friendship, many of you in the class of 67 thru 69 rise to the top.

All of you committee members went to a great deal of time, effort, and hard labors of love to make your reunion unique, fun, and memorable. From my point of view, you managed to surpass expectations, surprise, and delight everyone with a great celebration of the years of friendship that began at CHS and that have come far, far beyond.

I'm glad that I could crash in on you all and want to thank you all for those warm and wonderful memories of bygone days when we were all young.  I?m sure that everyone there will never forget what the committe members did to make your reunion such a magical
weekend!

And yes, I'm sorry that we didn't have more time to visit but that's the way it always is at a reunion.  On Friday night of your reunion I realized once more why heaven is heaven for one of a thousand reasons: In heaven we won't keep running out of time.

I hope you made it home safely and were refreshed for your return to work.  Thanks again for giving me an opportunity to enjoy life, friends, and the moment. Hope we can do it again.

Lanny & Isreal,
I just wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciate
all your efforts with our VERY successful 40th
Reunion.  I know you both have probably "had it" with all
the BS you had to go through with to make the get together
so much fun.  Thanks for the good music, good food, the
tribute to the guys that had to carry the water for us all
in Vietnam, and all the good vibration's.  That was the
first time I said the pledge of allegiance since grade
school.  Must say I had a few tears in my eyes (felt kind
of unmanly until I saw Wayne Ballard wipin' his eyes).  Oh
yeah, I'm makin' plans to go and visit a real special
classmate that lives in Arizona that was at the reunion.
It was like nothing had changed after 40 years of water
had gone under the bridge.

Also, say a prayer for Don Oden's family, as he passed on
this morning.
